Hamilton Ti-Cat return specialist signs with NFL’s Raiders

After a huge rookie season with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, running back and return specialist Tyreik McAllister has signed a future/reserve contract with the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders.

McAllister, 25, spent 2022 on the Denver Broncos practice roster before signing with Hamilton last year. The 5’11” 180-pound speedster led the CFL in kickoff return and all-purpose yards in 2023 after signing with the club n June.

“Still going. Still blessed,” was McAllister’s response to the news on his X (formerly Twitter) page.

McAllister had 1,037 kick return yards (an impressive 25.3 average), 603 yards from punt returns, 408 yards from seven missed field goals (and a touchdown) and caught 27 passes for two touchdowns.

The South Carolina native spent five years with the University of Charleston, twice earning first team all-conference honours.

According to 3 Down Nation, McAllister worked out for the Raiders just before Christmas. All CFL players are eligible to pursue NFL opportunities regardless of contract status via a window that remains open until the first day of free agency February 13.
