Hamilton road crew ready for tonight’s winter blast

With snow expected overnight the City of Hamilton and its winter weather crews are prepared and will be out on streets tonight salting and plowing where necessary.
A blast of winter weather could make for treacherous road conditions in Hamilton and southern Ontario, with flurries expected about 9 p.m., turning to heavy snow by midnight and gradually tapering off until the snowfall ends about 4 a.m. Four to five centimetres of the white stuff is expected to fall during the night.
Environment Canada issued a winter weather travel advisory for much of southern Ontario Monday into Tuesday morning, with the City of Hamilton reminding motorists to “as always, drive according to weather conditions and give our crews space to operate.”
There could be reduced visibility with the heavy snow and local blowing snow. Northwest winds could gust from 50 to 60 km/h.
Icy and slippery road conditions are also expected.
