Hamilton’s annual Pride event is set to make a comeback as a public event this Sunday (Aug. 27) at Pier 4 Park.
This return to outdoor celebrations marks a significant moment for Pride Hamilton.
After the violent protests by anti-LGBTQ protesters that occurred at Gage Park in 2019, the event was held virtually in 2020 and 2021 during the pandemic.
And in 2022, the event took place at the Hamilton Convention Center.
The Pride festivities are scheduled to take place between 12 p.m. and 8 p.m., at 64 Leander Dr.
Hamilton Pride committee has picked this location as it “delivers on our promise to bring Pride back outdoors,” according to Hamilton Pride’s social media post.
“It is serviced by HSR and offers parking for those who drive. It is also one of the more accessible parks because of its level, paved paths and washrooms.”
The event promises a lineup of attractions, including an array of vendors, performances, and a dedicated Child/Youth/Family area filled with crafts and activities.

Attendees can also visit the Beer Garden, which will feature offerings from Nickelbrook Brewing Company, Blackfly Beverages, and a variety of non-alcoholic drinks from Free Bar.
This year, organizers say they’re working closely with the police and local authorities to ensure a safe experience for all those attending.
