Hamilton police are appealing for witnesses to a stabbing that took place at a house party over the weekend to come forward.

On Sunday, October 27, 2019, shortly after 1:30 a.m., police responded to a male injured by a knife during a large house party.

On Saturday, October 26, 2019, a home on West 2nd Street in Hamilton had been hosting a party with 100 to 200 people in attendance.

Police were called in the early Sunday to assist a 21-year-old man from Hamilton with a cut to his body.

The victim indicated he stepped in to help out a woman who was involved in a confrontation with an unknown man when he received his injuries, police said.

He was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
