Hamilton Police seek suspect after woman grabbed in underground parking lot

Hamilton Police are looking to identify a man they believe was involved in a robbery in a Downtown underground parking lot.

Hamilton Police are looking to identify a man they believe was involved in a robbery in a Downtown underground parking lot.

On Wednesday (Jan. 29), shortly before 10:00 p.m., a woman from out of town exited her vehicle parked in an underground lot in the area of King Street West and Bay Street North.

The woman started walking from her car when she was grabbed from behind by an unknown man.

The suspect demanded money from her but the robbery was interrupted when an unexpected person walked around the corner causing a distraction and an opportunity for the victim to break free from his hold and run to safety.

The suspect then fled on foot without any of the victim’s items and she did not suffer any physical injuries.

The suspect is described as:

  • Male, 30-35 years, 5’7 to 5’10,
  • 185 lbs, medium build, brown hair
  • Black leather jacket, black hoodie, blue jeans
  • Black boots, black toque and glasses
