Hamilton police seek man alleged to have snatched 89-year-old woman’s purse

Hamilton Police say they are on the lookout for a man they say robbed an 89-year-old woman of her purse last week.

Hamilton Police say they are on the lookout for a man they say robbed an 89-year-old woman of her purse last week.

Police say the robbery occurred on Thursday, December 5, 2019, shortly after 7:00 p.m., in the area of Queenston Road and Woodman Drive South.

The 89-year-old victim, police said, was robbed of her purse after disembarking from public transit. The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival. A weapon was not seen and no one was injured during the incident.

Investigators from the Criminal Investigations Branch are appealing for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect in the investigation.

At the time of the incident, the suspect is described as wearing a black scarf across his face and wearing a dark parka.
