Hamilton Police seek help in identifying man found dead on Jackson Square roof

Police say on June 5, they received several calls from members of the community which led to a confirmed identity.

The 28-year-old male lived a transient lifestyle with ties to the Hamilton area. The male was known to frequently attend the downtown core.

The next of kin has been notified.

Hamilton Police are asking the public to help identify a man found dead on the roof of Jackson Square.

Police said on May 2, shortly after 8:00 p.m., a person was walking on the roof of Jackson Square and noticed two men lying on the ground unresponsive.

The person was able to wake-up one of the men at which time he left on foot before police arrived. However, the other man was lifeless and pronounced dead by paramedics.

Police say that the man did not have any ID and there have been no inquiries or missing persons with his profile reported.

The body was sent to the Centre of Forensic Sciences at which time confirmation of the man’s description was provided.

It is believed that his lifestyle was a contributing factor in his death and police are not investigating this as suspicious.

Police are asking for the man that left the scene prior to police arrival to call.

  • Man, 21 to 32-years-old
  • 202lbs
  • 5’8 (approximately)
  • Black curly shoulder length hair
  • Light complexion

Clothing Description:

  • Black patterned golf shirt
  • Blue Fila sport jersey
  • Black winter Canada Goose jacket (size small)
  • Black & grey slippers
  • Watch (black and grey striped band)
  • Necklace with pendant, silver bracelet and costume jewellery earrings
