Hamilton Police release image of robbery suspect in hopes of IDing him

Hamilton Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect in a robbery that took place earlier this month.

On Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at approximately 1:00 a.m., a man entered a commercial business located in the area or Upper Wellington Street and Brucedale Avenue East on the East Mountain.

Police say the suspect approached staff and demanded cash. He successfully obtained an undisclosed amount of money and was last seen running in a northwesterly direction.

During the interaction, the suspect reportedly claimed to be in possession of a weapon, however, it was never seen.

No staff members were physically injured.

Detectives from the BEAR Unit continue to investigate the robbery and are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect.

The suspect is described as:

  • 25-35 years of age
  • 5’9 height
  • 140 lbs weight
  • Thin build
  • Black toque
  • Dark clothing
  • Blue surgical mask
  • White socks
  • Light coloured flip flop sandals
