Hamilton Police looking for two people in Monday morning hit-and-run on Eastport Drive

A three-vehicle collision that sent two women to hospital in life-threatening condition Monday morning has Hamilton Police searching for two people from one of the cars who fled the scene and remain at large.

The accident happened just before 8 a.m. Monday on Eastport Drive near Pier 25 in the City’s east end and involved a 2024 white Volkswagen SUV, a black 2010 Nissan and a 2015 white Honda. Two people from the Nissan were transported to hospital with serious life-threatening injuries and the driver of the Honda was transported with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Two people from the Volkswagen, police said, left the scene and investigators are hoping to speak with any witnesses who can help identify and locate them.

Eastport Drive was closed for Monday morning for the investigation but has since reopened.

The Hamilton Police Collision Reconstruction Unit was called in to assist with the ongoing investigation and witnesses are asked to call Detective Andrew Poustie of Division 2 CID at (905) 546-2920 or the Collision Reconstruction Unit at (905) 546-4753.

Police confirmed the crash around 10 a.m. saying the two women were hurt. They also confirmed three cars were involved in the crash but did not disclose any other details until Monday evening.
