Hamilton Police detectives continue to investigate a stabbing incident that occurred on Saturday afternoon.

On Saturday, February 8, 2020, just before 4:30 p.m., Hamilton Police responded to reports of a stabbing incident that had just occurred in a parking lot in the area of Stone Church Road East and Upper Ottawa Street.

When they arrived on the scene, police located a male suffering from injuries that are believed to have been caused by an edged weapon.

The 31-year-old Hamilton man was transported to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

As the scene was processed, Hamilton Police maintained a presence in the area.

The incident is currently being investigated by the Mountain Division Criminal Investigations Branch.

Police believe that the incident was targeted with the information available at this time.
