Hamilton Police investigating death of 14-year-old boy following serious assault

Hamilton police are investigating a serious assault that resulted in the death of a 14-year-old boy outside an East Hamilton high school.

According to police, they were called to the area outside of Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School early this afternoon (Oct. 7) to reports of a stabbing. 

The victim, a student at Sir Winston Churchill, was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. 

Police have stated that the victim’s mother was on scene at the time of the assault. 

Hamilton Police have three suspects in custody. They believe another two were involved in the assault, which were seen in a video submitted to officers. The suspects and victim had a relationship; however, police have yet to comment on specifics. 

Hamilton Police are currently searching for the weapon used in the incident and are asking residents to search their property as well as submit any video to police.
