Hamilton Police Charge Man After Seen Taking Pictures Outside Women’s Home

Hamilton Police reminds the public to be vigilant about locking doors and securing windows after a man was caught looking through a window late in the evening.

On September 28 shortly before 5:00 a.m., police responded to the area of Proctor Boulevard and Dunsmure Road. According to police, a female living in the residence noticed a man standing outside her window taking her picture. The victim and her roommate exited the home, located the man and were able to detain him until police arrived. The man was taken into police custody.

After investigation, police seized various electronics and are in the process of reviewing their contents. At this time, it is believed additional victims may exist.

On October 1, the Ryan McKay, a 26-year-old Hamilton man, appeared in court to answer to charges of prowl near dwelling house and voyeurism.

Hamilton Police are encouraging residents to check their security cameras for any suspicious activity. Additionally, police are also reminding residents that doors and windows that are easily accessible should be locked and secured.
