Hamilton police arrest 2nd suspect in cafe stabbing

The second suspect in a stabbing at the West Lounge Café earlier this month has been apprehended.

On Friday (Oct. 25), Joseph Barham-Ferguson turned himself in at the Hamilton Police Central Station.

He was arrested in relation to the assault and appeared at the John Sopinka Courthouse later that day to answer to the charges.

Barham-Ferguson, 20, from Hamilton, is charged with aggravated assault and fail to comply youth sentence.

The incident happened on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019, just shortly after 2:00 a.m., when police say a physical altercation occurred between one male who was approached by two male suspects at the Café.

The victim was transported to the hospital by friends at the time.

Fuhill Badei, 20, from Hamilton turned himself in earlier this month. He faces charges of:

  • Point Firearm
  • Carry Conceal Weapon
  • Use firearm in the commission of an offence
  • Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Assault with a Weapon
