Hamilton mountain road closure will be in effect for next two weekends

Construction is going to close a portion of the major road heading into Binbrook for the next two weekends, the city said in a press release Thursday (July 9).

To safely complete culvert installations, the City of Hamilton said they will be closing Regional Road 56 between Rymal Road and Golf Club Road for two weekends this month beginning Friday, July 10, 2020.
Dates for the work are weather permitting, however, at this time are planned for:
- July 10 at 7 p.m. until July 13 at 5 a.m.
- July 17 at 7 p.m. until July 20 at 5 a.m.
Given the nature of the work, these dates may change depending on weather, the city cautions. Updates will be posted on Twitter @CityofHamilton.

Motorists will be asked to follow signs for detour using Hendershot Road.
Local access will be maintained from the south end of the closure at Regional Rd 56 and Golf Club Road.
