A Hamilton man has won the lottery for the second time in three years.

Thuy Thanh Phan of Hamilton won $70,566.40 on a Pools ticket, the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Commission (OLG) said in a press release today (Oct. 5).

Phan said he knew he won after the Monday night game.

“I was happy. On the Tuesday morning I saw I won $70,000 – I was pleasantly surprised,” Phan said. “My family was happy for me when I shared the news with them.”

Phan, a 58-year-old husband and father, told the OLG he has been a regular lottery player for more than 25 years.

His favourite games are Daily Keno, Pools, Proline and Points spread.

And this isn’t his first lottery win. He also won $100,000 on Daily Keno three years ago.

He plans to use these new winnings to help pay down his mortgage.

“This feels good,” he said.

Phan’s winning ticket was purchased at Handy Market on Burlington Street in Hamilton.
