Hamilton man pulled from waters on Van Wagner’s Beach has died

A 21-year-old Hamilton man has died after being rescued from the water at Van Wagners Beach.
A 21-year-old Hamilton man has died after being rescued from the water at Van Wagners Beach.
Hamilton Police say on Thursday (Sept. 3), shortly before 7:00 p.m., they received information about a man who had entered the water at Van Wagners Beach and had not resurfaced.
Police and other emergency service partners quickly responded as efforts were initiated to locate the man.
He was later recovered 30 meters offshore at which time life-saving measures were administered. The man was then rushed to the hospital.

Early Friday morning, the 21-year-old Hamilton man succumbed to his injuries, police say.
At this time, police say they will not be releasing the identity of the deceased.
