Hamilton man facing charges on stunt driving

A Hamilton man is without his licence and vehicle for 7 days, after both were seized by police Saturday morning.

Shortly before noon, Hamilton police say they pulled over a Ford Mustang that was clocked going 142 km/h in a 60-zone  on Nikola Tesla Blvd.

“In accordance with the Ontario Highway Traffic Act, stunt driving violations result in an immediate seven-day driver’s licence suspension and vehicle impoundment for the same period,” said Hamilton Police Service in an official media release. “If found guilty in court, the penalties for stunt driving could include a fine between $2000 – $10,000, up to six months in jail and a two-year licence suspension.”

The 63-year-old driver is scheduled to appear in court on Nov 4. to answer charges of stunt driving.
