A Hamilton man is facing charges after allegedly publishing illegally-obtained, intimate photos of an Oakville woman.

A Hamilton man is facing charges after allegedly publishing illegally-obtained, intimate photos of an Oakville woman.

Halton police say that in October 2019, a woman’s iCloud account was hacked by an unknown suspect and that intimate images of her were obtained and distributed to people in her contact list.

Police also allege that the suspect attempted to extort her for additional images.

On July 8, 2020, a search warrant was executed at an address in Hamilton and a 32-year-old man was arrested and charged with mischief to data, publishing intimate images without consent and extortion

To protect the identity of the victim, police will not be naming the accused.
