A helpful dream led to a winning lotto ticket for a lucky Hamilton man.

OLG recently announced that Jamie Shedden, 54, is $250,000 richer after winning with Instant Extreme Lucky Lines (Game #2392).

Shedden, an IT professional, told OLG that he changed his usual purchasing strategy after he dreamed about winning the lottery.

“I had a dream that the winning ticket was at the top row of tickets in the store. The store clerk knows me and knows I always pick the second ticket from the bottom. She went to pick it for me, but I stopped her and asked for the top row this time,” he told OLG.

When Shedden played his ticket at a coffee shop, he realized he was looking at a windfall.

“I was cheering louder and louder. I scanned it on the OLG app to make sure it was true – my hands were shaking! I called my sister to tell her and I started to cry happy tears. It’s been a real whirlwind,” he said.

He plans to use the money to help his family.

“This win is a real blessing for me and my family. I’ll use this money to take care of my kids. It’s a dream come true, and I feel so grateful,” he told OLG.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Canadian Tire Gas Bar on Queenston Road in Hamilton.
