Hamilton hospitals are looking to hire people with health-care experience to help in the battle against COVID-19.

A job posting on Hamilton Health Sciences’ careers page is calling on members of the community who can support the city’s health-care facilities during the pandemic.

The posting says that both HHS and St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton (SJHH) are collaboratively coordinating this effort.

“We are seeking healthcare professionals who are not currently employees of HHS or SJHH and are willing to supplement our current capacity as the healthcare system deals with the anticipated surge of COVID-19 patients,” the job posting says.

“This could include healthcare workers in the field either working casually, part-time, recently retired or are currently inactive with the applicable regulatory college and are prepared to return to work.”

There are currently a number of nursing positions available and they are looking for respiratory therapists and health-care aides.

There are currently 18 people hospitalized with COVID-19 in Hamilton’s hospitals and 198 confirmed cases of the virus in the city, 77 of which have been resolved.

A surge of cases is expected in the coming weeks.

Those who think they can answer our hospital’s call for help can find instructions for applying here.
