In recent weeks, a stealthy patio pop-up has set up shop in one of the picturesque alleyways along the popular thoroughfare.

Reservoir is an occasional and highly secretive nightspot that operates over summer weekends that serves of cold drinks, delicious food prepared by local chefs, delightful atmosphere and music (at a reasonable volume).

“We’ll entertain you at this stealthy spot nestled between two buildings with safe spacing, tasty food, great people, and good music, all served in a comfortable and inviting atmosphere under the stars,” a Reservoir Instagram post says.

The summer is here but not for long … the future is eerily uncertain. We thought we'd do something fun while the patio weather is still with us. You're invited to a sneaky little pop-up summer laneway patio for dinner and drinks. The name will mean something to those of you who grew up in the neighborhood… If you know, you know. We'll entertain you at this stealthy spot nestled between two buildings with safe spacing, tasty food, great people, and good music, all served in a comfortable and inviting atmosphere under the stars. This is something a little out of the ordinary. This weekend we're blessed to have a great chef (Ken LeFabour of NELLIE JAMES), tasty cold drinks and stellar weather! LOCATION 211 Locke Street South (next to the former Brown Dog Cafe) HOURS OF OPERATION FRIDAY 7 pm – 11 pm SATURDAY noon – 11 pm SUNDAY noon – 11 pm Come and enjoy yourself!

“We’ve got a great collection of friends dedicated to making our little space your dreamy outdoor home-away-from home,” another post says.

The patio is located at 211 Locke Street South, next to the former Brown Dog Cafe.

While the patio plans to operate Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in the afternoons and evenings, organizers of the sneaky endeavour say that due to film productions in the area in the coming weeks, it will not be up and running between August 14 to August 24.

“There’s gonna be just too many lights, trucks, and action around the property to safely host you,” an Instagram post says.

“Special treats and surprises to come upon our return.”

Reservoir comes along at a time when businesses on Locke, and in neighbourhoods throughout the city, struggle to come back online following months of closures due to COVID-19.

Locke launched ‘Seven Saturdays’ late last month, which closes down the road and invites people to indulge in the sights, sounds, services and flavours of the street at a safe distance. Reservoir complements these efforts and offers an enticing and singular experience.
