An employee at a Hamilton Metro grocery store has tested positive for COVID-19.

Metro shared on their website that one employee at their store at 967 Fennell tested positive for the virus this week and their last day of work at the location was this past Sunday (August 16).

The company says they were notified of the confirmed case on Monday.

“Where required, we will communicate with customers who have shopped in the impacted location to manage the situation,” Metro says on their website.

“Out of an abundance of caution, with each case that is reported, we will deep clean and sanitize the location.”

The store has since reopened.
