Popular Farmer’s Market in Hamilton is set to change its hours of operation.
Located at 35 York Blvd, the Hamilton Farmer’s Market is a well-established hub for supporting local farmers, producers, and businesses by providing a reliable source for buying locally sourced goods, is set to change its hours of operation in September.
The Board of Directors approved a change to operating hours during their board meeting in July.
This is the first time in several years that the market is changing its timings in response to community feedback.
Commencing on Sept. 6th, the Farmers’ Market will operate on:
- Wednesday: 9 a.m. -5 p.m.
- Thursday: 9 a.m.- 5 p.m.
- Friday: 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.
- Saturday: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
The Market will be closed on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.
“(I)believe that the change in operating hours will welcome new customers to the market and make it more convenient for existing downtown shoppers,” said Bill Slowka, Manager, Hamilton Farmer’s Market.
A recent study examining the market’s needs suggested this change as one of several priorities.
“I think this will help the market to adapt to the transitions coming to the core and provide more flexibility, consistency, and predictability for shoppers and vendors,” said Coun. Cameron Kroetsch.
