Hamilton driver dies after crashing into a canal in Dunnville

A Hamilton resident has died following a single-vehicle crash into a canal in Dunnville.
Emergency crews were called to the crash on North Shore Drive in Dunnville at 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 8, OPP said in a press release.
The vehicle left the road and entered the canal, which runs alongside it, police said.
Police, Haldimand Fire and Haldimand County Emergency Medical Services responded to the crash.
But sadly, the 35-year-old driver from Stoney Creek was pronounced dead at the scene OPP said.
North Shore Drive was closed between Mumby Road and Taylor Road for the investigation and was reopened shortly after 8 a.m.
