Gunpoint robbery in Hamilton pot shop leads to push to ID suspect

This woman is believed to have tried to rob a cannabis store at gunpoint.

Investigators are working to identify a woman they believe was involved in a gunpoint robbery at a cannabis store in Hamilton.

The woman walked into Village Cannabis at 275 King St. E. in the Beasley neighbourhood around 7 p.m. on Nov. 12. Hamilton Police allege the woman used a tablet to submit her order. She then pulled a gun when an employee turned to get her products.

“Give it to me, give it to me,” she told the employee. However, the worker did not hand over the cannabis and the woman fled the store empty-handed. She was last seen running east down King St. Neither the worker, nor anyone else, were hurt in the exchange.

Police released security footage still of the woman on Nov. 30 in an attempt to identifiy her with the public’s help. They describe her as a Black woman in her 30s with a medium of heavy build. She wore eyelash extensions, a black puffy winter jacket and a light-coloured scarf covering her face.
