Grimsby man arrested in connection to Hamilton home invasion

Hamilton police say they have arrested a man in connection to a home invasion that happened in late August on the Mountain.

On August 28, 2019, shortly before 11:00 a.m., police say they responded to a 911 call from a resident on Brigade Drive in Hamilton. The victim indicated there were two unknown men inside the home and feared for their safety.

Police arrived and arrested one man on the scene but the second armed man escaped. A local school was placed into a hold and secure at the time.

On November 13, 2019, shortly after 4:00 p.m., Hamilton Police say they located the outstanding suspect getting into a vehicle near his residence in Grimsby and placed him under arrest. The weapon used in the incident was not recovered.

Hamilton police have charged Charged Mason Hood, 20, of Grimsby with:

  • Break Enter Commit Robbery
  • Use Imitation Firearm Commission of Offence
  • Fail to Comply with Undertaking
