Update: From patio parties to outdoor movies, Hamilton’s Pier 8 pop-ups to kick off this week

Dreaming of spending more time by the water without leaving the city?
Hamilton’s outdoor Pop Ups at Pier 8 series by the bay has a lineup of free activities for all ages. The event series, presented by the City of Hamilton and the West Harbour, was supposed to kick off with an outdoor movie tonight (July 26) but due to thunderstorms, it has been postponed. The organizer said on Instagram that it will post a new date for the movie night soon.
The pop-up series runs for the following periods, from July 27 until July 30, Aug. 9 to 13, and Aug. 23 to 27.
There will be music, food, movies, workshops, patio parties and markets.
Some examples of events include an Abba dance party on Friday, Aug. 11, Kidstock: Music and Art Festival on Sunday, Aug. 13 and a farm fresh family picnic on Friday, Aug. 25.
The events will take place at Pier 8 (bottom of Discovery Drive), HMCS Haida (658 Catharine St. N.), HWT Patio (47 Discovery Drive) and Gantry Crane at Copps Pier Park (base of Catharine Street North).
On Saturday, July 29, people can pop by to see all sorts of vendors including, workshops for children and all ages, a baby music class, live music and more at HWT Patio (47 Discovery Drive).
