Hamilton Police have concluded that the circumstances surrounding the discovery of human bones in an Ancaster industrial field are “non-suspicious in nature”.

On March 18 shortly before 5:00 p.m., police were notified about the discovery of bones close to a hydro tower field in the area of Cormorant Rd and Osprey Dr in Ancaster.

After a forensic analysis, police say they received validation that the bones were human.

“The evidentiary information located at the scene along with DNA analysis established the remains were that of a transient 40-year-old male from Hamilton,” said police. “It is believed his body has been in the area for an indeterminate amount of time.”

Police are asking that anyone with information contact Hamilton Police.
