Crane works to shut section of downtown Hamilton street for two days

A portion of a major street will be closed in downtown Hamilton for two days due to crane works.

Caroline Street will be closed from King Street to Market Street starting Thursday, Nov. 2 at 7 a.m. until Friday, Nov. 3 at 7 p.m., the City of Hamilton announced.

Motorists are advised to take an alternate route.

In addition, the Chedoke Stairs won’t be accessible to the public on Thursday, Nov. 2 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. because crews will be replacing sections of stairs and platforms. The work will depend on the weather.
