An outbreak of COVID-19 has been re-declared at a Stoney Creek nursing home.

An outbreak of COVID-19 has been re-declared at a Stoney Creek nursing home.

On Friday, May 1, the city re-declared an outbreak at Heritage Green Nursing Home after finding three positive tests while carrying out the recently-announced, provincially-mandated testing of all long-term care staff and residents.

“All 3 positive tests were in those with no symptoms and there are currently no symptomatic staff or residents at this site,” the city says.

The three cases have been classified as resident/patient cases, and there are no staff cases being reported at the home at this time.

An outbreak was originally declared at Heritage Green on March 21 after two cases were confirmed at the facility.

The city is continuing to monitor all COVID-19 outbreaks at Hamilton facilities, including long term care homes and community facilities.
