A convicted armed robber serving the tail end of his sentence in the community has been arrested after going on the lam last weeks.

Sean Robertson, 37, was sentenced to five years for;

  • armed robbery with a knife
  • robbery with violence
  • two counts of robbery
  • possession of a weapon
  • flight from police
  • two counts of dangerous driving
  • theft of a car
  • two counts of theft under $5000, and
  • failure to comply with a court order

He was later granted statutory release, a transition process wherein a felon is released back into the community but closely monitored. However, Robertson allegedly breached his release conditions on June 12.

Two days later police released a Canada-wide arrest warrant for Robertson. They confirmed he was known to frequent Hamilton, Brantford, Niagara Falls, London, Tillsonburg, Woodstock, Essex County and Simcoe.

On June 16, the OPP found Robertson in Tillsonburg and arrested him. The small Oxford County town sits about 110 kilometres southwest of Hamilton.
