Lovers of wine and delicious things in Hamilton should rejoice: a new wine and charcuterie bar is coming to the city later this year.

The Olive Board Charcuterie Company announced via Instagram recently that they will be opening a second location in Ancaster.

Their first wine and charcuterie bar is located in Grimsby and opened in the summer of 2019. Since its opening, patrons have raved over the quality of the food and service and the impeccable wine selection featuring carefully selected Ontario, European and American wines.

They aren’t just focused on wine; they mix up some mean cocktails and serve up brews from some local and recognizable craft brewers.

The Olive Board focuses on providing an experience that is casual and sophisticated.

“Charcuterie has always been a huge part of our lives any time we get together with friends or family,” they say on their website. “Nothing brings people together like great food and wine.”

Their menu features a number of elaborate charcuterie boards geared to a variety of tastes and dietary needs: they even have a vegetarian option and a board just for brunching. They also served up a delectable selection of soups, salads, shared plates and flatbreads.

The Grimsby location also hosts a Red Wine Wednesday event where they offer $20 off any bottle of red wine.

The new Olive Board will be located in the heart of Ancaster at 220 Wilson St. where there used to be a Starbucks.

The social media buzz shows that there’s quite a bit of excitement at the notion of an establishment like this setting up shop in Ancaster.

“So excited to see this! I am sure this will be a success! Ancaster needed something like this!,” wrote one Facebook user.

“Oh I would pick wine and charcuterie over coffee any day!,” quipped another Facebook post.

There is no word on an exact date when the eatery will be celebrating their grand opening but their sign says to expect them to be open sometime this spring.
