Close to 1,000 cases of COVID-19 recorded in Ontario, along with 18 deaths

As of 10:30 am on March 27, Ontario is reporting 993 cases of the novel coronavirus in the province. According to Ontario’s COVID-19 website, information about all of the latest cases–such as age, gender, and location–is pending.
The province says 18 people have died of the disease, while another eight have made full recoveries.
The website says 10,074 possible cases are under investigation, while 29,967 people have tested negative.

According to Peel Public Health’s COVID-19 website (which was updated at 10:00 am on March 27), 116 people have been diagnosed in the region. There are currently 40 cases in Brampton, seven in Caledon and 67 in Mississauga.
Yesterday, Peel Public Health reported a total of 75 cases, which means 41 new cases have since been reported. Mississauga saw an increase of 27 cases.
According to Halton Region Public Health, there are still 18 cases in the region as of 10:30 am on March 27.
Of the 18 cases reported by the Halton Region, two cases have been diagnosed in Milton, 10 in Oakville, five in Burlington and one in Georgetown.
A Milton man in his 50s died of the virus last week.
According to Hamilton Public Health, there were 43 cases in the city as of 12:00 pm on March 26. The city says seven people have had to be hospitalized and one person has died.
There is evidence of community spread in all three regions.
Residents are reminded to wash their hands frequently and stay home unless it is not possible to do so.
