Police have released video footage in their ongoing investigation into an attempted murder in Hamilton.

Around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 16, officers and paramedics responded to a shooting in the area of Sheila’s Place/Ellis Kitchen at 455 King Street East.

A 24 year old male victim sustained a gunshot wound to the head that was deemed life-threatening. He currently remains in hospital in stable condition.

Police say the suspect was seen fleeing the scene northbound on East Avenue from King Street.

He’s described as a black male, 20 to 30 years old, wearing a white hooded jacket, light coloured pants, dark shoes, and a black satchel.

Video footage of the incident shows the exact moment the altercation starts, causing bystanders gathered in the area to quickly disperse.
