According to police, a cat was beaten and ultimately euthanized as a result of a neighbour dispute.

Hamilton police received a call just after 3:30 p.m. Thursday (June 18) regarding a dispute between neighbours in the area of Airport Rd in Mount Hope.

Police say during the dispute, the cat wandered into the suspects yard, where it was beaten.

Due to the extent of the injuries, a veterinarian recommended that the cat be euthanized, according to police.

A 68-year-old man is facing charges for injuring and killing an animal.
