Beloved Hamilton Band Confirms Hoax

The Arkells confirmed Thursday (Sept. 12) that they will not be putting in an appearance at this weekend’s Supercrawl.
A tweet, sent out Thursday morning from the band’s official Twitter account, said that previous announcements claiming the band was playing City Hall Saturday afternoon were false.
“Yo #HamOnt fam: some joker made a fake Facebook event about Arkells playing at city hall for
@supercrawl. Not the case!” the Tweet reads. “We’re in LA. Imagine not having your coffee & waking up to this news?”

Fans bemoaned the news soon after the Arkells made it known they weren’t even in town.
“I saw this before my first coffee and lost my mind,” wrote one Twitter user. “Had two cups and looked closer and realized it wasn’t true. Bummer.”
The bogus facebook event already had 652 people attending the fake show and more than 500 interested.
Alas, Hamilton’s beloved band will be sorely missed but, let’s face it, they’re missing out on a pretty stellar Supercrawl weekend. L.A.’s got nothing on this town.
