The City of Hamilton announced Monday (March 9) that lane restrictions and rolling road closures will kick in at the area of Cannon Street E and John Street N for five weeks starting Wednesday.

The city said in a press release that the restrictions and closures are in place to allow Bell to safely complete manhole reconstruction.

In order to accommodate the project, Cannon Street will be reduced to one lane between Catherine Street and John Street.

As well, full rolling closures will be implemented on John Street N between Wilson Street and Robert Street for the duration of the project.

The manhole reconstruction is expected to wrap up on or before Friday, April 17 at 6 p.m.

The cycle track will remain fully open during this time, the city says.

Motorists are warned that they may experience some delays.

HSR Routes #2, #3 and #20 may experience delays, and the city says to check their website for those details.
