Chasing away the February blues and whatever may ‘ale’ you in the coldest month of the year should be a snap in Hamilton with the return of the Because Brrr Craft Beer Festival Feb. 16-17 at Bridgeworks.

Because Brrr, the winter version of the popular Because Beer Craft Beer Festival, will have three four-hour sessions for thirsty patrons at Bridgeworks, a 500-capacity multi-arts venue located in an historic industrial space on Caroline St. N. on the north side of Central Park.

Because Brr will be an opportunity to celebrate great local craft beer and cider, with seven breweries (five of them local) and two cideries, along with food, a free retro arcade and live music in a sessions format.

The three sessions are Friday (8 p.m. to midnight) and Saturday (2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. to midnight). The sessions will take place exclusively indoors.

Vendors include local brewing stars Clifford, Collective Arts, Grain & Grit, Shawn & Ed’s and Merit, as well as Black Fly Beverages (London) and Willibald (Ayr, ON). Cideries include West Avenue Cider of Freelton in Flamborough and Ernest Cider (Friday only) from nearby Bond Head, northwest of Brantford.

Frida’s late session entertainment will feature two sets from Born In The Eighties. Saturday’s early session patrons can enjoy Generator Party, while The 99s will perform Saturday night.

Because Brrr ticket purchases also entitles buyers to exclusive access to presale tickets for Because Beer 2024 at Pier 4 Park July 12-13. The access link will be shared post-Because Brrr.

Because Brrr tickets include a complimentary sampling cup with four-ounce sampling tokens available at $2 each.
