Barricaded individual incident shuts down major intersection in Hamilton

Hamilton Police responded to an incident at a residence at approximately 1:47 p.m. in Hamilton today (Sept. 6)
According to authorities, they were “working to bring a barricaded individual situation to a peaceful resolution” at a residence in the Parkdale Avenue North and Melvin Avenue area.
During the incident, residents and commuters were advised to avoid the area.
Police did not disclose further details regarding the individual or the circumstances surrounding the incident.
However, they mentioned that there was no threat to the public in the area.
In a subsequent tweet at 1:52 p.m., Hamilton Police said that the incident had been safely resolved, and as a result, traffic in the area is expected to return to normal shortly.
