Shortly after 1:30 a.m., police were called to an apartment disturbance at 123 Bold St.

Police say they located “signs of a commotion” and a large amount of blood but no one found inside.

“Approximately 10 minutes later a male with severe abdominal lacerations entered St. Joseph’s emergency for medical treatment,” said Hamilton Police, who said officers were already at the hospital for an unrelated matter.

“He advised being stabbed by a friend during an altercation at his apartment on Bold Street.”

Police say the other male involved in the stabbing was sitting in the hospital awaiting medical care.

After speaking to both parties, police charged Aaron Rozek of Hamilton with:

  • Attempt Murder
  • Utter Threat to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
  • Fail to Comply Probation x 2
