Alleged bank fraud in Clarington nets charges for Hamilton woman

An alleged attempt to defraud a bank has resulted in charges for a Hamilton woman.

A woman went to the RBC at 680 Longworth Ave, Durham Regional Police said. The woman allegedly used false documents in an attempt to open an account.

The bank teller saw through the ruse and called the police. Officers arrived while the suspect was still in the bank and arrested her.

Andrea Bramwell, 32 of Hamilton, is charged with numerous offences such as;

  • fraud over $5,000
  • impersonation
  • possession of forged documents, and
  • two counts of possession of another’s documents
