QuickBite News, one of the largest digital-only media publications in Canada, is comprised of insauga.com, inbrampton.com and inhalton.com. Combined, the three distinct sister sites average 1,300,000 unique visitors per month, 3.5 million page views per month and 2.2 million video views per year (2018). QuickBite News has the biggest social media following in the western GTA, with well over 200,000 followers.

inthehammer.com will focus exclusively on Hamilton and its satellite towns and cities. The brand new website will, much like other QuickBite sites, bring readers everything from the latest breaking news and entertainment pieces to our signature Top 5 food and restaurant reviews.

“We are very excited to launch inthehammer.com and show readers from all over the GTA everything that this great city has to offer," says Khaled Iwamura, founder of QuickBite News.

"We know that Hamilton is a very proud and vibrant community that has its own distinct identity, along with a ton of amazing restaurants, festivals and events.”

Inthehammer.com will function as every resident's go-to resource for the latest breaking news, current events coverage, Top 5 food and restaurant reviews and arts, event, festival and entertainment coverage.

The site will also offer readers a unique way of finding food through their mobile devices with the popular Top5 Nearby feature. The feature, available on all QuickBite News sites, shows all the Top5s around your mobile location, as well as New Openings—so diners will never miss a beloved hotspot or a brand new restaurant.

Inthehammer, much like every other QuickBite News site, will never be behind a subscription wall or a paywall. Our content will always be free for readers to enjoy.

The team in charge of the new Hamilton site is comprised of Amy Kouniakis and Anthony Urciuoli, two talented Hamilton journalists who know the ins and outs of the city—and who are profoundly proud to call the city home.

Amy Kouniakis started out at an independently owned weekly in Pelham. She has also worked as a copy editor for a Canwest operation out of Hamilton. That project came to be known as Postmedia Editorial Services, located in Westdale. After nine years with Postmedia, Kouniakis took on a copy editing role with Global News. She has worked closely with award-winning journalists across the country, alongside reporters at Hamilton's CHML news station.

Anthony Urciuoli, who graduated from the Journalism and Communications Media program at Mohawk College, began his broadcasting career in Toronto at Sportsnet Radio The Fan 590 and NHL Network radio as a reporter and announcer. For more than a decade, Urciuoli worked at Global News Radio 900 CHML as a reporter, news/sports anchor, talk show shot, and digital journalist.
