19-year-old Hamilton man facing sex trafficking charges

A month-long search for a suspected human trafficker has led to an arrest in Hamilton.
A month-long search for a suspected human trafficker has led to an arrest in Hamilton.
In Dec 2019, Hamilton Police Service say they received information about a 19-year-old male who persuaded a young woman into the sex trade with drugs.
Police located the suspect on Saturday (Jan 25) at an east-end Hamilton residence. He was arrested and transported to Central Custody where his bail was opposed. Alex La, 19, from Hamilton faces the following charges:
- Robbery
- Trafficking in Persons
- Material Benefit- trafficking persons
- Procuring for Sexual Services
- Advertising Sexual Services
- Point firearm x 2
- Fail to Comply with Youth Sentence x 2
Hamilton police believe there may be more victims and encourage them to contact Detective Constable Kudo Park at 905-540-6379 in the Human Trafficking Unit.
